Irish Restaurant Company is Hiring a Bartender Near Severna Park, MD

Family friendly restaurant company that gives a better quality of life with no crazy late nights and potential for leadership training and growth.
Must be well versed in cocktails, whiskey, and tap pouring. Must be FRIENDLY and cooperative.
Summary of Position:
Provide timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests.
Duties & Responsibilities:
 Check identification of customers. Bartenders must be sure customers meet age requirements for the purchase of alcohol and tobacco products. Bartenders must be aware of state and local laws concerning the sale of alcoholic beverages.
 An additional responsibility is to make sure that customers do not drink too much and to slow down those who appear to drink too quickly. Cutting people off may also be required.
 Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
 Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Restaurant’s standard drink recipes.
 Learns the names and personally recognize our regulars. Develop and grow new custom through any contact with public. Bartenders have a great deal of “Face Time” with people and must capitalize on this.
 Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system.
 Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable).
 Wash and sterilize glassware. Make sure glassware is up to standard.
 Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks, appetizers for bar patrons.
 Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages. Ensure sufficient glass stock for smooth restaurant and bar operation in busy periods.
 Clear and reset tables in bar area.
 Present drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages.
 Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
 Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
 Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager.
 Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies. Prepare bar for following shift or day and ensure smooth transition at shift changes.
 Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
 Plan bar for events and special occasions both on and off property.
Qualifications:
 Be 21 years of age, must have BARTENDING EXPERIENCE in either a bar or restaurant setting.
 Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests as well as follow directions effectively.
 Have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes. They must be able to prepare drinks quickly, accurately and without waste.
 Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register. Must be organized.
 Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
 Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
 Be of neat and clean appearance and a pleasant and agreeable manner.
 T.I.P.S. certification or similar is a plus. Certification will be required after probationary period.
 Must be able to work well with others in high pressure periods to the benefit of our customers.
 Must possess sound and mature judgment.
